LESC Behavioral Health Care Collaborative Is now Cogency Integrated Healthcare IPA, LLC, newly certified by New York state as an Independent Practice Association (IPA).
New York, NY, February 12, 2019 – Lower East Side Service Center Behavioral Health Care Collaborative announced today a new name and broadened structure of service that reflects their vision and mission to offer comprehensive, community-based healthcare. Now named Cogency Integrated Healthcare IPA, LLC, the reorganized healthcare organization is dedicated to integrating and coordinating medical, behavioral health and social determinants of health services through its network of 20+ partners – across all five boroughs of New York City. This new Independent Practice Association (IPA) works to meet the needs of New Yorkers experiencing critical life problems with substance use disorders, mental illness and chronic health conditions by leveraging a diverse network of health and human service organizations that offer treatment, recovery services, housing and other supports.
With a renewed vision, committed to delivering high-quality, value-based, coordinated care, Cogency IPA implements a holistic approach to evidence-based support for clients that demonstrates consolidated services, improved clinical outcomes and a reduced healthcare cost structure. “We are dedicated to offering care that is measurable, accountable, transparent and affordable,” explained Valerie Walters, CEO of Cogency Integrated Healthcare IPA, LLC. “Our aim is to meet the needs of the whole person. That’s why we address social determinants of health. Working as a network with multi-disciplinary care providers allows us to collaborate on person-centered care plans that work to consolidate services in a more efficient and meaningful way,” Valerie added.
To that end, the collaborative’s new identity offers a nod to a dynamic, re-energized and expanded focus on integrative, coordinated client care services. “We appreciate the way our new branding delivers a much-needed, data-driven narrative to our name. It helps our organization point toward evidence and the reason for additional healthy collaboration,” Valerie commented. “Integrating the words ‘cogent’ with ‘agency,’ worked to create a unique name that describes an open and positive state of being as well as offering the promise of evidence-based care, thoughtful care coordination and dedicated service.”
